Super sports cars from Mercedes-Benz.
Fascination is in the DNA.
Mercedes-Benz has been designing captivating vehicles ever since Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler invented the automobile. And its product range has always included high-performance sports cars. One of these was even closely associated with the birth of the Mercedes brand.
For the 35 hp Mercedes of 1901 was not only the first model to bear the name Mercedes, it was also the first – given its remarkable output of 35 hp (26 kW) – to be classed a genuine super sports car by modern standards. So what gives these super sports cars such special appeal?
For most, it is their high performance potential and eye-catching, dynamic appearance, coupled with full everyday functionality. For others, it is spectacular racing success. But one factor unites all these cars: they have all left an indelible mark on the brand’s image, from its origins to the present day.
It all began with the 35 hp Mercedes of 1901. Then came the great automotive landmarks of the celebrated S, SS and SSK supercharged sports cars of the 1920s and the legendary 300 SL “Gullwing” of the 1950s. And now Mercedes-Benz is continuing this unique tradition with the SLS AMG – the car the international press is already championing as the pretender to the title “sports car of the 21st century”.
SLS AMG Coupé:
Combined fuel consumption: 13,2 l/100 km, CO2-Emissions combined: 308 (g/km).
